Zukunftstag im Arosa Bärenland - Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen
A day full of experiences for young helpers
November 13 was National Future Day – and Bärenland Arosa opened its doors to seven enthusiastic children. Together, they made their way by bus and on foot from Prätschli to Bärenland, where an exciting and educational day awaited them.
After safety training and practicing radio discipline, they got straight to work: the children helped muck out the indoor enclosure, prepared food and activities for the bears, and removed the lower wires from the outdoor enclosure to prepare for the coming snow. They also inspected the bears' homemade caves.
In addition to the physical work, there was time for a well-deserved lunch break on the platform – with a view of the bears in the outdoor enclosure. The children learned a lot about the biology of the animals and completed their Future Day tasks. Finally, the food for the next day was prepared.
It was an eventful day that not only offered exciting insights into the work at Bear Country, but also showed how important it is to give young people practical experience.
