Getting to the Arosa Bear Sanctuary

By cable car from Arosa to the Bear Sanctuary

 

The first section of the Arosa-Weisshorn cable car takes you directly to the visitor platform at the Arosa Bear Sanctuary. The operating hours of the mountain railways are as follows.

Arriving by rail

Arrive in comfort on the Rhaetian Railway from Chur to Arosa and enjoy an unforgettable trip through the Schanfigg Valley. The Arosa railway station is located right next to the valley station for the Arosa-Weisshorn cable car.

The Bear Sanctuary Safari and Lumpaz bear friend ensure the journey is a lot of fun. Children can solve puzzles and read bear stories in the Bear Sanctuary carriage!

Arriving by car

From Chur, you drive up a winding road for around 40 minutes to reach Arosa. The chanfigg road snakes through the valley and conquers an altitude difference of 1,320m over 30 km and round 360 bends. From Arosa, you can reach the Arosa Bear Sanctuary on foot, by bike, or by cable car (Arosa-Weisshorn cable car).
